Bradley Police report they were called to the 100 block of South Douglas Avenue late last week for a report of a stolen car. The owner said he’d parked the car with the keys inside and returned to find the car gone. A day later, officers were called by the owner who said he’d seen his car near Schuyler and Broadway. Responding officers found the car parked in an alley. While waiting on a tow truck to haul the car away, reports say 34-year-old Keon D. Lawson rounded the corner, but stopped and turned away after he saw police. Officers say they saw Lawson throw away a set of keys as well. The keys belonged to the stolen car and reports say Lawson’s cell phone had been paired with the car’s entertainment system. Lawson was arrested by Bradley Police for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
