Ashkum Man Arrested for Filing False Police Report on Crash

An Ashkum man has been charged with filing a false police report, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, disorderly conduct and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he allegedly crashed his car and then called police to report the vehicle had been stolen.  It happened in Iroquois County at 700 East and Rt. 116.  Police believe 39 year old Christopher Mancuso was behind the wheel of the vehicle and blew a stop sign, hit a ditch embankment and overturned.  He was not hurt.
