Kankakee City Police say a report of a missing car ended with an arrest. Reports say officers were called to a store in the 900 block of East Court Street Tuesday night for a report of a stolen car. When they got there, they spoke to the victim who said she’d borrowed her sisters car to go to the store and left the keys in the car with the car running as she went inside to shop. When she came out of the store the woman says the car was missing. The car was reportedly spotted a short time later with two people getting out of it in the 19-hundred block of East Pine Street. One of the men entered a home in East Pine, while the other walked away. Officers stopped the second man, identified as 49-year-old Robert L. Ward,  who told them he’d been picked up by the guy that went into the house. Officers say they knocked on the door of the home and a woman came to the door to tell them the man they were looking for had run out the back of the house, but gave officers the okay to search the home. That search allegedly turned up 31-year-old Anthony Woodard Junior hiding in the attic of the home. City Police arrested Woodard on a pair of outstanding warrants. Ward was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle.
