Rumors are swirling on Facebook that the Bourbonnais Township Park District is looking to close down the Exploration Station. Park District Executive Director Ed Piatt addresses the rumors
Piatt noted a marked decrease in attendance at the Exploration Station over the past 20 years, pointing to a 2004 Daily Journal article that said the Park District attraction was seeing 35 to 40-thousand visitors a year
When it comes to the other rumor floating, that the Park District is looking to add an RV campground at Willowhaven, Piatt said there have been discussions about that possibility, but nothing has been decided yet.
