City of Kankakee has steering wheel locks available

In an effort to combat the growing number of Kia and Hyundai thefts across the country, the Kankakee City Police Department has partnered with Kia and Hyundai with providing vehicle owners with steering wheel locks.  The Kankakee Police Department currently has a limited amount of steering wheel locks that are free to Kankakee residents. Residents who are owners of a Kia or a Hyundai that has a keyed ignition are eligible to get the free steering wheel lock. To get one, you need to take proof of vehicle ownership along with an ID to the Kankakee Police Department. The locks will be handed out on a first come first serve basis.
