Unemployment down in Kankakee County

Unemployment was down in March in Kankakee County.  The Illinois Office of Employment Security pegs the number at 5.8 percent.  That’s well off February’s 6.5 percent and on par with the 5.9 percent recorded in March of 2022.   The highest jobless rate in the state is in Rockford at 6.7 percent the lowest is in Bloomington at 3.4 percent.
