Two people were injured when fire broke out in an apartment building on Oak Run Drive in Bourbonnais Saturday. In a press release, Bourbonnais Fire Protection District Chief Jim Keener says fire departments were called just after 11:30 Saturday morning and when they got there, they found fire in one of the lower apartments in the complex. Fire equipment from as far away as New Lennox was called in to help battle the blaze which was out by about 4:30 Saturday afternoon. One person was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and one firefighter was treated at the scene for an unspecified injury. The 12-unit apartment complex has been deemed uninhabitable at this time and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
