City of Kankakee to have new Deputy Fire Chief

The City of Kankakee Fire Department has announced a new Deputy Chief. According to a press release from Friday, Mayor Chris Curtis and Fire Chief Bryan LaRoche have appointed Captain Christopher A. Salazar to the role of Deputy Fire Chief. Salazar has 24 years of fire service experience and has been with the Kankakee Fire Department since 2006. Captain Salazar will be presented to the Alderpersons at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting for consent to the position.
