Kankakee County law enforcement authorities report an arrest in connection with that alleged dog fighting ring they broke up over the weekend. In a press release, the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Billy E Walker was officially charged Wednesday with 18 counts of dog fighting, two counts of animal torture and two counts of cruelty to animals. Walker was released following the hearing. Walker and 43-year-old Yachia A Austin were both arrested by State Police last Friday night during a traffic stop on the interstate where between one and two pounds of suspected fentanyl was found in their car. Austin was ordered held by the judge Wednesday on charges of manufacture and delivery of between 400 and 900 grams of fentanyl and aggravated fleeing and eluding police.
