Fatal Father’s Day shooting in Kankakee

Kankakee City Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the City. In a press release, City Police say it was just after 3:30 yesterday afternoon when officers were called to the 11-hundred block of East Merchant for a report of shots fired. When they got there, officers say they found two gunshot victims in the front yard of a home. Both men were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. One of the two, 40-year-old Randal D. Young of Kankakee later died of his injuries. The other man’s injuries were thought to be non-life-threatening. City Police ask anyone with information about the shooting call their office or Crimestoppers at 815-93-CRIME.
