Two arrested for alleged robbery

Kankakee City Police report a pair of arrests after a person called them to say they’d been robbed. According to reports, it was about 8:30 last night when officers were called to the 100 block of West Court Street for a fight in progress. When they got there, officers were flagged down by a woman who told them the other person in the fight was in a car that had just pulled away and that person had robbed them. Officers stopped the car and talked to 20-year-old Zaniya M Allen who told them she was the other person in the fight. The driver of the car, 20-year-old Lachelle S. Goree reportedly handed over the victims cell phone and some cash that had been taken from her. City Police arrested both women for robbery and battery. Allen was additionally charged with resisting arrest and Goree was charged with Mob Action. The victim in the case turned out to have a warrant out for her arrest. She was also taken into custody for the outstanding warrant.
