The murder trial for 36 year old Jeremy Boshears continued Wednesday in Will County Court. Boshears is charged in the shooting death of 24 year old Katie Kearns of Mokena. In testimony yesterday a videotape was played to the jury in which Boshears, a member of the Joliet Outlaws club, told police the night of the murder he last saw Kearns when he walked her to her Jeep and watched her drive off. However, in earlier testimony a St. Anne couple testified that Boshears was at their farm the night Kearns was killed and helped him push a jeep into their pole barn after he told them it broke down. The husband was a former member of the Outlaws. Kearns’ body was later found wrapped in a tarp in the back of the jeep. In other action, the defense requested a mistrial after the prosecution played a portion of the videotape that was ruled off limits before the trial began. It delt with the suicide of Boshears uncle around the time of the murder. The judge said he will take the request under advisement. The defense claims Kearns killed herself. The trial continues today.
