Fire destroys home in Kankakee

City of Kankakee Firefighters were called to a home in the 600 block of South Myrtle for a house fire over the weekend. According to reports, when they got there, firefighters found fire in the attic of a two-story home. High winds made battling the blaze that much more difficult. Reports say fire caused some 100-thousand-dollars worth of damage to the home and displaced the family. No injuries were reported, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
