Testimony contained today in the murder trial of accused cop killer Darius Sullivan. Sullivan is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Bradley Police Sgt Marlene Rittmanic and of seriously wounding Officer Tyler Bailey in December of 2021 at the Bradley Comfort Inn. Officer Matthew Baxter who was the evidence officer for Bradley PD at the time of the shooting testified today to the validity of photos entered into evidence by the State that were still shots taken from the body worn cameras belonging to Sgt Rittmanic and Officer Bailey from the night of the shooting. One of the photos appeared to show Sullivan standing over Rittmanic with a handgun that had an ammunition drum attached to it. Sullivan sat stoically in the courtroom while the photos were displayed. On cross examination public defender Ed Pentuic tried to cast doubt on the chain of custody for the body-worn cameras. The trial continues tomorrow morning.
