Illinois is in the lower half when it comes to the best states to start a business. That’s according to a new survey just released Monday by financial website Wallethub. In this study, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 25 key indicators of startup success to determine the most fertile grounds in which to launch and grow an enterprise. Illinois ranked 29th in the survey, Indiana was 8th. Wallethub says Florida is the best place in the US to start a new business, followed by Utah, Texas, Oklahoma and Idaho. Rhode Island ranked as the worst place in the US to start a business.
