Kankakee City Council approved a conditional use permit for a senior housing facility to be built on the city’s southside near Walmart at Monday night’s meeting. Mayor Chris Curtis says the developer still has to obtain tax credits in order to move forward with the project.
Mayor Curtis said he would love to see both housing projects get completed because it fits his personal initiative of reaching five-hundred new housing united by 2030.
