Man arrested with allegedly stolen trailer

The Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force reports an arrest after a man was caught with an allegedly stolen trailer. According to reports, Bradley Police were notified Wednesday of a trailer that had been stolen from a business in the Arthur Industrial Park. Later in the morning, Kankakee City Police reportedly found the trailer in the 22-hundred block of East Court, being pulled by a black SUV. City Police reportedly tried to stop the SUV, cut instead the driver allegedly took off eastbound out of town. County Deputies then spotted the SUV and trailer on the side of the road in the area of Exline Road and four-thousand East, with the driver leaving the area on an ATV. That ATV was spotted later near three-thousand East and five-thousand North roads. When officers tried to arrest the driver, later identified as 44-year-old Christopher M Griese of Crystal Lake, he reportedly pulled away, dragging an officer until the ATV crashed into a ditch. It was then Griese reportedly took off on foot, but was taken into custody after a short chase through a field. The Deputy reportedly suffered minor injuries. Griese was arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer and possession of a stolen motor vehicle among other charges.
