At Monday night’s Kankakee City Council Meeting, Mayor Chris Curtis asked residents and business owners for patience when it comes to getting permits from their code department.
Mayor Curtis added that permit applications are up significantly because of the major storm in March. In 2025, the city issued only around 1,200 permits for the entire year.
