Kankakee School District 111 Superintendent Doctor Theresa Lance will no longer be required to live in the district in order to keep her job. The Board of Education voted four to three on the modification to her contract at Monday night’s meeting. Board member Tracy Verrett spoke up during the meeting and explained her ‘no’ vote.
The board also voted to give Superintendent Lance a three point five percent raise for the upcoming school year plus a two year extension on her contract that will last until 2031. With the most recent raise, Dr. Lance will now make around 242-thousand dollars per year.
