Manhattan woman killed in weekend crash

The Will County Coroner’s office has identified the woman who died in a crash over the weekend in Smith Road in Manhattan. Manhattan firefighters were called to the roll-over crash on Smith Road east of Kankakee Street in Manhattan Saturday morning. Firefighters say they   found a car that had gone off the roadway and was laying on it’s roof with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters got the driver out of the car and took them to the hospital in critical condition. Will County Coroner Laurie Summers says 72-year-old Jane M Bross of Manhattan died of her injuries just before six Saturday night. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
