Rte 50 reconstruction underway in Kankakee

Work is underway on Route 50 in Kankakee.  Construction began yesterday on a four-mile stretch from Brookmont Boulevard to Route 45 and 52.  Work includes intermittent milling and resurfacing, installation of pavement markings and raised reflective markers.  One lane will be open in each direction during the two-point-three-million-dollar project, which is expected to be completed in October.
