The governor recently signed legislation sponsored by 79th District State Representative Jackie Haas. Haas says the new law raises awareness about a life-saving resource.
Haas said pharmacies were specifically targeted because there are a number of medications that list increased depression or suicidal thoughts as side effects. Pharmacies that don’t have a physical location serving patients directly must include a copy of the sign with every prescription they dispense. The sign will also be available for download on the Department of Human Services’ website.
