Kankakee City Police arrest suspected arsonist

Kankakee City Police report an arrest in connection to that alleged arson at the UHaul on Kennedy Drive early Monday afternoon. In a press release, Kankakee Police Chief Chris Kidwell says his officers had been called to the facility just after 11 yesterday morning for a domestic disturbance between 46-year-old Tara Ann Brown and her male companion. Then just before 12:30 Monday afternoon, Kankakee Police and Fire were called to the facility for a storage unit on fire. The press release says Brown allegedly set fire to the storage unit with the man inside. Brown was arrested by City Police on preliminary charges of attempted murder and arson.
