Kankakee City Police report a couple of incidents over the weekend where shots were fired in the City. City Police say the first happened just before 4:30 Saturday morning when a man called to say he’d been driving east on Cooper Drive near Tedmark when he heard some shots ring out and his passenger side front window shattered. Reports say officers found three holes in the passenger side window with exit holes in the drivers side rear window and one out the windshield. The driver said he had no idea who might want to shoot him.
The second incident happened just after four Sunday morning in the one-thousand block of East Birch. When they got there, officers say they found several people outside a bar who said they’d heard shots fired, but didn’t see anything. Police say they found a spend shell casing in front of a nearby home, but no damage or injuries were reported.
