Gas prices stayed pretty stable over the weekend. Triple-A says the average cost for a gallon of regular no-lead gas is four-dollars-48 cents across the Land of Lincoln. That’s actually down a penny overnight, but some 20 cents more expensive than the cost one week ago. Gas in the Kankakee area is running four-dollars-53 cents a gallon on average. The same as yesterday, but up 41 cents in the past week. Triple-A says gas is running 4.47 on average in Iroquois County. It’s four-dollars-35 cents a gallon on average in Ford County, 4.31 in Grundy County and four-dollars-40 cents a gallon on average in Will County.
Across the state line, Triple-A says a gallon of gas will set you back three-dollars-47 cent on average in Newton County. It’s 3.65 on average in Benton County and 3.63 on average in Jasper County. Triple-A says a gallon of gas is running three-dollars-58 cents on average across the Hoosier State. Indiana Governor Mike Braun has suspended that state’s tax on gasoline until early October.
