Jim Paicz, whom Manteno Mayor Annette LaMore tried to appoint as the Director of Building and Zoning at the September 8th Village Board Meeting has now been hired as a Building Inspector for the Village. Mayor LaMore announced Paicz’s hiring at last night’s board meeting and said he spent the last four years working in Monee.
The Manteno Village Attorney said the Building Inspector position doesn’t require board approval. Trustees originally voted down Paicz’s appointment as Director 3 to 2 because they questioned whether the budget contained funds to pay his salary. It appears those financial questions have now been answered and there could be another motion to appoint Paicz as Director of Building and Zoning at the next board meeting on October 5th.
