October is Fire Safety Month and each week this month, we’ll be getting fire safety tips from Lieutenant Enrique Czako, Community Risk Reduction Officer and EMS Coordinator with the City of Kankakee Fire Department. With recent colder temperatures, Lieutenant Czako reminds you to get your furnace checked and be aware of carbon monoxide.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says some 12-hundred people die each year from carbon monoxide poisoning.
