Wheatfield man arrested for alleged September attack

Jasper County Indiana Sheriff’s Police report the arrest of a 27-year-old Wheatfield man after he allegedly attacked another man with a pickaxe. In a press release, Jasper County Deputies say they were called to a gas station on Route 10 in Wheatfield just before 6:30 in the evening on September 25th. The victim told police he’d been cleaning out his pick-up truck when Christopher Cody Tippit approached and allegedly began to yell at him and chase him with a pickaxe. The victim said he was able to get into the truck, but Tippit then allegedly hit the truck with the pickaxe. Tippit reportedly left the scene before officers arrived. He was arrested Saturday on charges that include intimidation with a deadly weapon.
