More details have been released about the Joliet man accused of killing 26-year-old Melissa Prosser of Bourbonnais earlier this year in a fatal car crash on I-55 near Channahon. According to court records, 36-year-old Timothy Waldvogel was denied pre-trial release during a Will County Court hearing Thursday. Prosecutors said an investigation conducted by Illinois State Police revealed Waldvogel allegedly consumed six beers and eight shots of alcohol just hours before striking into Prosser’s car at 140 miles per hour on I-55 back in April. ISP obtained a search warrant for Waldvogel’s blood and urine seven hours after the fatal crash where his blood alcohol content came in at 0.102. Prosecutors also argued that he has a prior DUI conviction. Waldvogel faces two counts of reckless homicide and two counts of aggravated driving under the influence causing death. His next court appearance will be in late January.
